Used for power to supply BTS, rectifiers to convert AC to DC, DC to supply BTS Cab and recharge batteries, Batteries are for any power failure in area, its suppose to give a 4 hour back up charge,and keep system running, but this all depends on state of batteries. As we all know, when AC power does fail, Dodgey batteries might swell and leak, to explode would be an one off, but possible.

If Batteries do fail and voltage is to low, system will full over, and calls on mobile in that area may fail, again depending on location, as if you were between sites, redundancy will come into play from near by site, it will try to handle your call, if you are in reach of its signal.
