FIU 19E Indoor Unit development.C2.0 FOR ETHERNET PAYLOAD AND IP
BASED DCN IN FAST AUX DATA CHANNEL
New hardware C2.0 (T55340.xx--D, FIU 19E Main Unit
T55300.01--B) and a new software (P55306.01--A0) supporting Ethernet Plug-
In Unit (T55320.01--A) for 19" Indoor Unit FIU 19E (T55340.xx). Main new
features are support for configurable (2-32 Mbit/s capacity) Ethernet Payload
with Ethernet Plug-In Unit (EPIU), IP based DCN in fast AUX channel support
and SNMP support for EPIU.
The new hardware version for FIU 19E C2.0 is T55340.01--D.
Major HW changes:
• ·Plug-In slot 2 is modified to support Ethernet Plug-in Unit (T55320.01).
These allow an Ethernet traffic channel over microwave radio hop(s) with
selectable capacity for Ethernet use with 10/100base-T interface.
• ·Fast AUX channel multiplexed to be used for IP DCN. (64 ... 512 kbit/s
depending on transmission capacity)
• ·The new hardware version C2.0 has as identification a text “FIU 19E”
above PWR switch. This text does not exist on previous units. The
identification sticker has new version T55340.xx--D0 printed on.
The new software for FIU 19E C2.0 is P55306.01--A0. It is not compatible with
previous HW versions of FIU 19E.
New features added:
• Support for Ethernet Plug in Unit (EPIU). It allows transparent Ethernet
bridging over microwave radio links. Radio link capacity can be either
allocated totally for Ethernet traffic or radio link capacity can be shared
between Ethernet and traditional TDM traffic. Supports up to two
radios with radio path capacity 2-32 Mbit/s for Ethernet traffic,
configurable with 2Mbit/s granularity.
• SNMP support for EPIU
• Support for fast AUX channel configuring for IP DCN use.
Limitations/Restrictions:
EPIU is supported on FIU 19E C2.0 HW, earlier FIU 19E cannot be upgraded
to support EPIU.
Ethernet radio hop needs to be equipped at both ends of the hop with EPIU.
EPIU is also needed in repeater/chaining station configuration.
The new software (P55306.01--A0) for FIU 19E C2.0 can not be used in
previous versions of FIU 19E.
Ethernet plug-in cannot be used with software (P55306.01--A0) of FIU 19E
C2.0 version within 2 indoor unit protection mode.
Version C2.0 can be used as a spare part of FIU 19E C1.5, when new Hopper
Manager C4.6 is in use. When indoor unit is protected, the version of both
units has to be the same (either C1.5 version or C2.0 version).
HW/SW requirements:
Compatible with Hopper Manager C4.6 or newer.
Using EPIU requires FIU 19E C2.0 Main Unit T55300.01--B0 (or newer).
